Open House activities

Like I said on my previous post my school was having an open house. And yes it was boring. The activities I did was just normal school stuff. Came in in the morning then wait until 10 o'clock. At 10 there were many visitors like parents and teachers from other schools. 10 o'clock we had an assembly. Visitors joined us in the gym. they were seated on chairs while the students sat on the floor. In an assembly we have the same thing over and over again. First we sang the National Anthem 'Indonesia Raya'. After the anthem We read the Pancasila (The base of our country). I had to read the meanings of each Sila. There are 5 in total. After that we my class and the fifth graders played the Surprise Symphony composed by the famous Austrian composer Hyden. After the assembly we went back to our classes. Inside we study as usual. Visitors go all around the school and inside the classes. I was invited to explain what's going on in our class. It was at PE lesson that visitors came to my class. My class mates are all doing PE but I stayed inside because I didn't bring my PE shirt and Pants. So I stayed and waited for visitors to come in. If any visitors came in the class or get near it I would simply say: Hi my name is Samuel may I show you around my class? If they say yes I would say: would you like me to explain in English or Bahasa Indonesia? They would select any language and I would Explain. From the Displays outside my class to inside or the other way around. Before I explain I would shake the visitor's hand then start. I guided up to 11 visitors each with the same explanation over and over again. By lunch time Everything is back to normal. Like a monday. Most of the visitors have went home and no one was left. By 2:30 every one went home. And the crappy thing is I got to wait for my sister at her painting lesson for 2 hours.

Open House

Well time to time my school makes an Open House. So on a Saturday we go to school and make the Monday a weekend. What we do in an Open House is do normal school stuff. But our parents and visitors around Jakarta come to our school. We usually end our school hours on 2:30. But since this is the weekend we end it at 1:50. The only difference between the normal school days and an Open House is that visitors and parents comes to look at what we are doing, our facilities, our activities, safety and all that other crap. So we have up to 12 classes in our school. Our school is small so we have 2 buildings. I am on the 6th grade the oldest class in the first building. And I am chosen to explain our work for the visitors coming on the 8th of November. When I was just practicing for that in front of my teacher my mouth was all dry when I finished. What I have to do is simple: explain grade 6's Display, current activities, facilities and more crap. And the worst thing is I got to wake up at 6 in the morning!!!

Life with out cousin Hansel

Well if you have read my posts there should be one about my cousin Hansel leaving for Singapore. He left at the sixth of November. And now I'm writing about how life is without cousin Hansel. Well there is a few things.
a: I am now more lonely then usual. Seeing since I was already lonely before he go because he was busy with his lessons.
b: I am now the oldest grandson while he is gone. My dad is the oldest from 3 siblings. But cousin Hansel's mom got married first.
c: No one can shut-up my sister. Cousin Hansel is usually the only one that can shut my sister up when she whines out of control.
And that is the life with out cousin Hansel.
